Certificate with 100% principal protection

The 100% principal protected certificate (UC SpA EUR Digital Coupon Capital Protection on the EuroStoxx 50 Price Index (EUR)) is a combination of a debt financial instrument and a derivative, which at the same time protects the invested principal against loss if the stock index drops during the relevant period and allows participation in the capital market and predefined earnings if the stock index rises during the relevant period.

  • Conditions precedent to additional return: If the value of Eurostoxx 50 at maturity is higher that its value as of the investment start date, additional return will be paid to the client, irrespective of how much the index rose (the only thing relevant is that the value of the index is higher, even 0.001%)

Target market

    The 100% principal protected certificate is intended for:

  1. investors aged between 18 and 75 years old
  2. investors classified as retail investors having an appropriate level of investment knowledge and experience
  3. investors for whom an investment in this certificate is suitable
  4. investors who stand to benefit from investing part of their financial assets for a period of five years

    The 100% principal protected certificate is not intended for:

  1. investors older than 75 years old without sufficient investment knowledge and experience
  2. investors for whom an investment in this certificate is not suitable
  3. investors who want to dispose of their invested financial assets before the certificate’s maturity date

Benefits

  2. an opportunity to earn an additional return of 18% at maturity if the stock index is higher five years after the investment start date

Risks

  1. The certificate includes the risk that the Issuer (UniCredit) will be unable to pay or perform its obligations, in which case all or part of the investment may be lost.
  2. If the certificate is sold before its maturity date, part of the invested principal may be lost because the invested principal is protected at maturity.

Use

According to the Key Information Document, the certificate matures on 25 July 2030, whereas the closing index price as of 18 July 2030 is used for the reference date for the purposes of additional return.

If you register 10 certificates, the value of your investment is EUR 10,100, of which the entry fee (so-called agio) accounts for EUR 100. Below please find a few different examples:

a)   If the closing value of the index is 35% less than its initial value, the protected principal of EUR 10,000 will be paid to you.
b)   If the closing value of the index is 01% less than its initial value, the protected principal of EUR 10,000 will be paid to you.
c)   If the closing value of the index is 01% greater than its initial value, the protected principal plus an 18% additional return will be paid to you, which totals EUR 11,800.
d)   If the closing value of the index is 12% greater than its initial value, the protected principal plus an 18% additional return will be paid to you, which totals EUR 11,800.
e)   If the closing value of the index is 53% greater than its initial value, the protected principal plus an 18% additional return will be paid to you, which totals EUR 11,800.

No. The principal is only protected at maturity. If you sell all or part of your registered certificates before the maturity date, you will be exposed to the risk of losing part of the principal invested.

This certificate may be registered at any branch of Zagrebačka banka during the fundraising period.
