This message is to warn you of the increase in the number of attempts to commit email frauds, known as the CEO and BEC (Business Email Compromise) frauds, which may have serious financial consequences.
The scammers impersonate high-ranking managers/directors from your company, your business partners or employees, and request urgent payments and change of IBAN to which payment is to be made.
- Be careful if you receive such request for payment via email (but also via a text message, or a phone or video call).
- Always additionally verify the identity of the sender.
- Additionally verify the authenticity of the request by phone or through internal channels.
- Do not make the payment without verification.
