START- online business start-up platform

Zagrebačka banka has made it possible to open a transaction account using the electronic start-up platform- START.

START allows you to apply for a transaction account at Zagrebačka banka when submitting an online registration form for starting a business – a limited liability company (d.o.o.), a simple limited liability company (j.d.o.o.), or a trade business (obrt):

What can be done via the START system?

In only one electronic process, START allows the user to:


  • Start a business – a limited liability company (d.o.o.) / a simple limited liability company (j.d.o.o.) / a trade business (obrt)
  • Apply for entry in the Register of Business Entities (State Bureau of Statistics)
  • Apply for a transaction account at the Bank
  • Apply for entry in the Register of Taxpayers, Register of VAT Payers, and/or for a VAT ID No. (Tax Administration)
  • Register with the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute (HZMO)
  • Pay fees and share capital electronically.

How to start a business and open an account via START?

  • Start online registration – START.
  • Select the option Apply for a Transaction Account at a Bank / Zagrebačka banka in the online registration form.
  • You will receive an answer from the Bank within 3 business days via the START system in your personal user mailbox.
  • The contractual documents, which need to be signed, will be waiting for you at a branch. After signing, your transaction account will be activated.
